性质:水中可溶性盐分的浓度或总量。以质量千分比(‰)表示,有时亦可以每千克水中可溶性固体的克数表示。某些离子的浓度决定着水体的盐度,如海水中的钠、镁、钙、氯和硫酸根等离子;内陆水中的钙、镁、钾、钠、氯、碳酸根、硫酸根、重碳酸根、硝酸根等离子。天然水体按盐度可分为淡水水体(0.001%~0.05%)、混盐水体(0.05%~3%)、真盐水体(3%~4%)、超盐水体(4%~34.7%)等。内陆水盐度在0.001%~34.7%之间,海洋盐度平均为3.5%。生物对水体的盐度有一定的适应范围,一般为0.02%~0.05%。工农业污染会引起水体盐度增加,超过适应范围会导致水生生物的减少甚至灭亡。测定盐度的方法一般有电导法、离子交换树脂容量法等。
