裕固族出远门走长路或干重活，临行之前要喝好吃饱。熬一锅奶茶，调上酥油、炒面、曲拉，先喝几碗茶，然后碗里再放入一大块酥油，加进炒面，把手洗净，慢慢搅拌，待拌匀时用手捏，尽量把融化的酥油和炒面拌匀，用手捏成炒面团，用手拿着吃，这就是糌粑。糌粑的主要成份是炒面和酥油，吃饱后一天之内再不吃不喝，也不感到饥渴，吃时味道喷香，不腻。
