光电吸收
物理学术语。X线的吸收衰减特性之一。当X线的光子与物质原子相互作用时，光子将能量交给原子的内壳层电子，被击中的原子对光子能量的吸收称光电吸收，又称实际吸收。在此过程中，光子将全部能量的一部分传递给原子内壳层电子，使电子克服核的电场作用脱离轨道；另一部分剩余能量使被击脱的电子高速运动成为动能，这种现象称为光电效应。光电效应中释放出来的电子叫光电子，光电子可以引起二次电离。释放光电子的原子则处于受激状态，其它壳层电子将跃迁填充空位，同时产生标识辐射(又称荧光辐射)。光电吸收的机率与光子能量和所作用的原子的序数有关，产生条件为光子能量要等于或稍大于轨道电子的结合能。吸收系数τ与能量及原子序数(Z)的关系为：τ∝λ3Z4λ为X线波长。由此可见，低仟伏X线所产生的光电吸收多，原子序数所造成的吸收差大，X线片的对比度高，但层次少。并且，光电吸收造成的生物效应是造成受检者辐射损伤的主要因素。
