职业疗法(oecupationaz therapy)亦称‘。工疗”。通过参加些工作活动以增进和维持健康、防比病废、评估行为特点、治疗和训练躯体或精神疾病患者的方法。这种疗法基于下述认识:工作能帮助患有精神或躯体病痛的人恢复健康(尤其在慢性期)。在19世纪末有关研究已证明，让精神病人参加手工_劳动，可帮助他们处理精神上的挫折，建立与环境相融洽的关系，这导致了第一批职业治疗车间。1952年成立了世界职业治疗家协会。职业治疗方.案是由职业治疗者会同医师、护士和其他专业人员一起制定。为恢复和安排患者的正常生活，必须先评估他们的工作能力，从简单的活动测试到全面的工作测试和精神病学劳动能力鉴定。鉴定后进行某种预备性训练，如做手艺(如木工)、轻的工业劳动(如组装)和办公室工作(如打字)等。让他们学会使用L具、积累经验。然后-部分人进行更高级的训练，一部分人则去福利工厂，另一部分人可能回家。回家的患者常需进行家务训练。在现代化的职业治疗中心，常有模拟的生活套间，在这里练习操作，以恢复正常的家务活动。职业疗法就是通过各种方式方法，使患者尽可能具有生活自理能力(如吃饭、穿衣、书写等)，并掌握一定的劳动技能。 (徐云撰梁宝勇审)
