A ionic compound [2,6-bis(Benzimidazol-2-yl)pyridineH2]2+·[SbCl5]2-was synthesized by the hydrother-mal reaction of o-phenylenediamine,pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid with SbCl3 in 1∶1 HCl solution.
