据岩石组合、基本层序特征 ,结合生物化石鉴定和同位素测年结果 ,红柳河地区海西期物质建造由红柳河群海相碎屑岩、碳酸盐岩、火山岩建造和陆相磨拉石建造组成 ,主期变形形成主干褶皱———红柳河向斜及伴生构造 ,变形机制为纵弯褶皱作用兼具一定压扁特点 ,总挤压收缩率达 40 %～ 70 % ,反映了造山后强烈陆内收缩变形特点。
