描述LepidagathisWilld.鳞花草属，爵床科，100种，分布于热带地区，其中鲜花草L.incurvaDon等7种，我国西南部至台湾亦产之。草本；花小，为顶生或侧生的头状花序或稠密的穗状花序；苞片大于萼裂片，小苞片较狭；萼5裂；花冠管状，2唇形；雄蕊4，两两成对；蒴果有种子2－4颗。
