The study on the function of protection forest of water resources for regulating is still a new topics in China.

On the basis of the studies on adaptability and absorption ability of tree species to the pollutants,the model and methods of the tree species planning for urban environment protection forests in the northwest China are put forward.

Nutrient cycle of water resource protection forest of Pinus tabulaeformis in the Miyun Reservoir watershed of Beijing.;

The current water conservation forest in the upper stream area of the Miyun reservoir of Peking City is analyzed.

Based on the report about the forest management inventory during the Eighth Five Year Plan period in the suburbs of Beijing,and according to the different kinds of forest use and site,the 3rd class water conservation forest is classified as:ecological forest,ecological economy forest,economic ecology forest.

By means of site measurement and comparison this paper presents the preliminary research advances on the soil moisture dynamics in the experimental area of water conservation forest in the watershed of Miyun reservoir.

Based on the report about the forest inventory in the suburbs of Beijing, and the principles of the ecology, productive function and sustainable development, 3 forest species and 18 forest types of water protection forest in Miyun reservoir watershed are classified as ecological forest, ecological economical forest and economical ecological forest.
