丁酮在合成抗氧防胶剂N,N'-二仲丁基对苯二胺过程中是过量的,回收利用可以节省不少成本,但其可以加氢生成仲丁醇,有必要测定回收丁酮中仲丁醇的含量。

| 丁酮 butanone 分子式 CH3CH2COCH3 。又称甲乙酮。无色液体。熔点－86.3℃，沸点79.6℃，相对密度0.8054(20／4℃)。溶于约 4 倍的水中，能溶于乙醇、乙醚等有机溶剂中。与水能形成恒沸点混合物(含丁酮88.7％)，沸点 73.4 ℃。蒸汽与空气能形成爆炸性混合物 ，爆炸极限 2.0 ％～12.0％（ 体积）。化学性质与丙酮相似。丁酮是干馏木材的蒸出液（木醇油）的重要组分，工业上可用二级丁醇脱氢或用丁烯加水氧化法生产。丁酮是油漆的重要溶剂，硝酸纤维素、合成树脂都易溶于其中。
