催化组胺、腐胺、乙烯二胺等二胺类氧化而生成醛的反应的酶。ec1.4.3.6。亦称为含吡哆醛的胺氧化酶或组胺酶。

广泛存在于动物组织（肠粘膜、肺、肝脏、肾脏等）、植物组织和微生物中。动物组织中的酶与单胺氧化酶不同，是水溶性的，存在于匀浆的上清液中，在相当精制的肾脏的酶中，含有辅酶磷酸吡哆醛。还可能有fad或铜。米氏常数虽大，但也能氧化单胺。酶活性可受氰化物，羟胺、氨基脲等羰基试剂的抑制。该酶除能分解组胺外，在肠粘膜中还能分解由氨基酸脱羧所生成的胺，起着解毒作用。由反刍动物血浆中的酶巳获得了它的结晶，它能很好地氧化苄胺、精胺，其分子量为25万，含铜和磷酸吡哆醛。植物的酶也能很好地氧化单胺，含铜，呈粉红色。微生物的酶对基质也有很高的特异性，可诱导形成。
