Based on contrast of examination and analysis of four planting modes, the serious soil erosion problem of mulberry garden on steep slope can be settled preferably by putting interplanting mode of tea and mulberry in practice.

However, the unsuitable matching of hillside orchard landscape in vertical direction and its unreasonable space pattern in horizontal direction are the reasons which lead to soil erosion and badly-destroyed natural environment in hillside area.

The soil loss of slope orchard is a serious problem on both eco-environment and sustainable agri- cultural development in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area.
