   形态特征:茄科茄属直立分枝草本至半灌木植物,高可达1米。叶卵形至矩圆状卵形,长8-]8厘米,宽5-11厘米。能孕花单生,下垂;不孕花生于蝎尾状花序上,与能孕花并出,花淡紫色,直径约2.5厘米。浆果较大,圆形或圆柱形,紫色或白色,因品种而异。
    生境分布:原产于亚热带,全国各地均有栽培。
    用途:果实为常食蔬菜。根药用能祛风、散寒、止痛。
