The bird pest faults have taken place in Loop 220 kV line of Bayannaoer in recent years.

By means of analysis and research on the bird pest of composite insulators, the main reasons of bird pest are the increase of birds, transmission line being energized or de-energized and the material used for composite insulators and so on.

Analysis of transmission line bird damage and prevention and cure countermeasures;

Aiming at very easy fault overhead transmission lines,even accident,which caused by the frequent activities of the birds,this paper analyzed and classified the bird damage from its formation mechanism,and put forward the corresponding precautionary measures to control it.

Based upon the practical situation against harm bird fault in the power network of Xiangfan Power Supply Bureau,this paper introduced the characteristic of the bird harm fault,and analyzed its trip reasons and presented its integrated prevention method such as the installation of the sound arouser,composite sheds,repelling board,shield,sting,net,etc.

Based on the operation and failure record data of Cangzhou power network,this article introduced the characteristics and processes of three kinds of bird troubles which are flashover caused by bird dropping,core exposure caused by bird pecking the silicon rubber sheds and housing of composite insulator and trip caused by birds nest on the tower of transmission line.
