补充资料：西山矿区
年产原煤千万吨的大型矿区。所辖矿区位于山西太原以西15公里，有铁路支线与同蒲线相接。矿区煤储量丰富，煤质较好，以动力煤为主。煤层稳定,倾角小,地质构造简单，利于开采。1982年有平硐、斜井各3处,设计能力705万吨／年，实际产煤1050万吨,还有选煤厂一座,设计年入选原煤200万吨。1949年矿区原煤产量仅27万吨，1949年以后，随着老矿的恢复和新矿的投产，产量逐年上升。1957年为247万吨,1965年为365万吨,1975年为572万吨。1979年以后，扩建了3处平硐，并装备了综合机械化采煤设备,原煤产量连年大幅度增长,1981年提高到1003万吨，采煤机械化程度也由31％提高到61％，其中综合采煤机械化程度达到37.8％。
