新会葵扇 广东新会名产。古称“梭扇”。约始于晋代。《广东新语》、《新会县志》载：“始于魏晋，盛兴明代”。清代咸丰年间，始创玻璃扇；同治年间创火画葵扇；辛亥革命前后，又创竹箨画扇。在1915年“太平洋万国巴拿马博览会”上获金牌奖。葵扇由葵树叶子加工而成，阙边用篦条环绕，扇柄就是叶柄，是民间最普及的一种扇子。须经晒场、撑扇、晒白、剪扇、焙扇等二十多道工序制成。选用上等葵叶，可制成名贵的玻璃扇。质地柔软轻韧，色泽晶莹洁白，具有透明感，俗称“玻璃白”，制成其扇，称“玻璃扇”。玻璃扇中以火画玻璃扇最著名。新会葵扇现有二十九个品种，三百五十多个不同花色，产品远销五大洲。
