Oxidative desulfurization of diesel catalyzed by lanthanum phosphomolybdate under microwave radiation

With lanthanum phosphomolybdate and oxovanadium phosphomolybdate as the catalysts and H2O2 as the oxidant,the catalytic oxidative desulfurization of benzothiophene(BT) in n-octane under microwave radiation was studied.

A silica pillared layered lanthanum titanate was prepared by first exchanging K 2La 2Ti 3O 10 with n C 6H 13 NH 3Cl, then reacting with octa (3 aminopropylsilasesquioxane), and finally calcinating the obtained product in air to remove the interlayered organics.
