This paper describes the process of production and improvement of the hammer stand for driving vertical piles which can reduce vibration, be disintegrated and provided, with multi-functions, and states the characteristics in structural design and advantages in application.

Hydraulic pile hammers have a lot of advantages over the cylindrical diesel pile hammers and should be given necessary importance.

Based on many years experience in pile testing and inspection,the author has made a summary of the information and data on piles,geological conditions and pile hammers used for the construction of marine works in Guangdong region,thus giving a reference table for piling operations in marine works,which may be of referential significance for piling operators.
