堇青石 cordierite 环状结构硅酸盐矿物,成分为(Mg,Fe)2Al3[AlSi5O18]。成分中铁和镁可以完全类质同象代替,富铁的端员称为铁堇青石,自然界产出的多是富镁的成员。常可有一定数量的水和钾、钠离子存在于由硅氧四面体环组成的结构孔道中。晶体属正交(斜方)晶系,常成假六方的短柱状晶体,双晶常见。集合体常呈块状和粒状。无色,常带有不同色调的浅蓝及浅紫色。玻璃光泽,断口油脂光泽。3组相互垂直的解理中等或不完全,贝壳状断口。莫氏硬度7~7.5,比重2.53~2.78。典型的变质矿物,产于角岩、片麻岩、结晶片岩及蚀变火成岩中。色泽美丽的可作宝石,以斯里兰卡和澳大利亚的质量最优。 |
