The navigation condition of tributaries at TGP reservoir area has improved essentially but it still lacks navigation grading standard,for the normal grading standard of inland river takes no consideration of the effect of reservoir on the tributary channel navigation.

Therefore,aggressive development and utilization of affluent water transport resources in the reservoir area was in response of the country\'s resources to promote sustainable development and utilization.

Connecting with the engineering experiences,this paper makes the calculation and physical model test for the head loss,maximum pumping volume of the diversion culvert on different sections and the original water-level mound in transient turnoff modes of water pump,and selects the most suitable diversion section.
