补充资料：明宝船舵杆
1957年在南京中保村明代宝船厂遗址出土的郑和宝船所用舵杆。长 11.07米，用极坚固的铁力木制成。其截面近方形，一端有穿孔，以装舵柄；下有榫槽，以装舵叶。据槽孔测知，舵叶的高度为 6.035米。中国造船史家周世德根据这一数据推算装此巨型舵杆的船长度为480～536淮尺(合164.5～184米)。另据造船史家杨槱的推算，则船长为 57米。一艘长 57米的海船的排水量为1200吨左右，比起葡萄牙航海家达·伽马所用的 300吨的船以及哥伦布所用 280吨的旗舰都大得多。
