性质:又称联苄基针状晶体。熔点52.2℃。沸点285℃。相对密度0.9583。折射率1.5478。不溶于水,可溶于乙醇、乙醚。化性与烷基苯相似。取代反应既可发生于苯环,也可发生于脂链。如在醋酐中用硝酸硝化,得到苯环上2位和4位硝基取代物。如果两个苯环对应都未被占据,则可以酰基化。用铬酸氧化得苯甲酸。500℃热解得1,2-二苯乙烯。以氯苄为原料经武尔茨反应合成。或以苯和1,2-二氯乙烷为原料经烷基化反应制备。用作有机合成试剂。
