| 日珥 solar prominences 突出在日面边缘之外的炽热的发光物质，太阳活动的标志之一。投影在日面上的日珥称为暗条。日珥具有不同的形状和运动特性，可以分为活动日珥、爆发日珥、黑子日珥、龙卷日珥、宁静日珥和冕珥6种类型。1868年8月18日日全食时，法国P.让桑和英国J.N.洛基尔首次拍到日珥光谱，确定日珥的主要成分是氢。同时还发现了当时在地球上还没有认出来的氦的黄色发射线(波长5876埃)。通过光谱分析，得到日珥的物理参数如下：①平均来说，宁静日珥的电子温度约6500K，湍动速度约 6千米／秒，电子密度约1016.8个／米3，而活动日珥的电子密度约1017～1018.8个／米3。②宁静日珥的物理参数随空间变化。从日珥的中心到边缘，电子温度从4300K到8500K，湍动速度从3～8千米／秒到10～20千米／秒，电子密度由1017～1017.3个／米3到1015.7个／米3。这些从中心到边缘的变化可能是由于边缘受到日冕高温的影响。日珥的形成、维持、运动和演化都与磁场密切相关。宁静日珥的磁场强度约0.001特（斯拉），活动日珥磁场强度可达0.02特斯拉。
