依靠轴和轮毂上纵向齿的相互啮合来传递扭矩的可拆联接，是联接轴与带毂零件的常用方式。与普通键联接比较，花键联接齿数多，总承载面积大，轴、毂受力均匀,齿根应力集中小，被联接件的强度削弱也较小,有利于提高承载能力。此外，花键齿可采用完善的加工工艺，两被联接件的定心性好，带毂零件能沿轴移动，零件的互换性也容易保证。但花键齿加工须用专门设备和刀具。花键已标准化，按齿形的不同分为矩形、渐开线形和三角形3种（见图）。矩形花键应用很广。渐开线形花键齿根较厚且齿根圆角较大，承载能力高，可用制造齿轮的方法进行加工，工艺性好。三角形花键的齿较细，适用于载荷很轻或薄壁零件的联接。
