In this paper,the advances in the study on current velocity in saltmarsh water-sediment-plant interface in recent years are summarized,the research status in the field is reviewed,and the possible research directions and approaches are proposed.

The study of saltmarsh water-sediment-plant interface made a great progress in re- cent two decays.

This study was implemented in wetland of shoals of the Yangtze Estuary, Specific goals were as follow: (1) Effects of habitat alteration by the saltmarsh vegetations on the macrozoobenthic community structure; (2) Macrozoobenthic succession; (3) Primary study on secondary production of the macrozoobenthos at the intertidal zone of Dongtan, Chongming Island.
