| 绿柱石 beryl 环状结构硅酸盐矿物。成分为Be3Al2[Si6O18]。六方晶系，晶体常呈六方柱状，柱面上可有纵纹。无色透明的少见，一般多呈各种色调的浅绿色；成分中富含铯时，呈粉红色，称为玫瑰绿柱石；含铬时，呈鲜艳的翠绿色，称为祖母绿；含Fe2+时，呈淡蓝色，称为海蓝宝石；含少量Fe3+时呈黄色，称为黄绿宝石。玻璃光泽，解理不完全，莫氏硬度7.5～8，比重2.6～2.9。绿柱石主要产于花岗伟晶岩中；云英岩及高温热液脉中也有产出。绿柱石是炼铍的最主要矿物原料。色泽美丽的绿柱石则是宝石原料，其中尤以祖母绿及海蓝宝石最珍贵。
