| 国际地质大会 International Geological Congress 非政府性的、由各国地质机构和学术团体代表组成的、定期召开的国际地质学术会议。英文缩写IGC。1876年创立。1878年在法国巴黎召开第一届会议。创立委员会主席为美国地质学家J.霍尔。国际地质大会每4年召开一次，没有固定会址和永久性会员。每次参加大会，均需重新申请。大会下设理事会、指导委员会和组织委员会。理事会是非常设机构。大会闭幕后理事会自动解散。有关下一届大会事宜一经上届理事会确定后，则由下届大会东道国组成的组织委员会全权负责办理。大会的宗旨是：与国际地质科学联合会（IUGS）合作，为地质科学的基础研究和应用研究的发展作贡献；为各国地质学家的学术交流提供集会场所；为地质学家的野外考察提供机会。大会无定期刊物。每届大会的会议录、论文摘要集和专题报告论文集，由东道国的组织委员会或有关国际组织集资出版。中国1910～1948年曾派有代表参加大会，1976年第二十五届大会起恢复参加活动。 |
