绿泥石 chlorite 一族层状结构硅酸盐矿物。化学组成可表示为Y3 [Z4O10](OH)2·Y3(OH)6。化学式中Y主要代表Mg·Fe2+、Al和Fe3+;Z主要是Si和Al,偶尔可以是Fe3+或B3+。通常所称的绿泥石,往往指其中主要为Mg和Fe的矿物种,即斜绿泥石、鲕绿泥石等。绿泥石多型发育,多型的种类与其成分的变化和形成条件有关。绿泥石晶体属单斜、三斜或正交(斜方)晶系,晶体呈假六方片状或板状,薄片具挠性;集合体呈鳞片状、土状。颜色随含铁量的多少呈深浅不同的绿色。玻璃光泽至无光泽,解理面可呈珍珠光泽,比重2.6~3.3,莫氏硬度2~3。主要是中、低温热液作用,浅变质作用和沉积作用的产物。在火成岩中,绿泥石多是辉石、角闪石、黑云母等蚀变的产物。富铁绿泥石主要产于沉积铁矿中。由海相沉积而成的鲕绿泥石,达到工业利用指标的,可作铁矿石开采。 |
