| 海退 regression 在相对短的地史时期内 ，因海面下降或陆地上升，造成海水从大陆向海洋逐渐退缩的地质现象。海退的结果，常形成地层的海退序列，由下至上一般为：沉积物由细变粗或由碳酸盐岩变为碎屑岩；沉积时的海水由深变浅；海相沉积逐渐演变成海陆交互相沉积和陆相沉积。海侵和海退常紧密伴生，海退也具有周期性和旋回性，在时间和空间上也可区别为不同级别和规模。海退的成因可与海侵类比（见海面升降运动，海侵）。 |
