半数死亡烧伤面积，指导致有一半患者死亡的烧伤面积。随着我国烧伤学科的迅速发展，专业队伍不断扩大，烧伤治疗单位遍及全国各地，积累了丰富的治疗经验，使我国治疗大面积烧伤的水平不断提高，半数致死面积也越来越大，近几年LA50已从过去的50%提高至75%～80%以上；其中天津烧伤研究所的总面积LA50达94%，Ⅲ度烧伤LA50达77.8%。显示我国烧伤治疗水平稳定地居于世界的领先位置。
