This paper presents the methods and results for selection of normal storage level,dead water level,installed capacity and unit type for Suzhi hydropower project,and analyses the benefits of the project.

In Shuoduogang hydropower cascade development project,Xiaozhongdian is the headwater regulating reservoir,the comprehensive analysis of its benefit of power generation,compensative benefit for lower reach,reservoir inundation,economic comparison is described,from this,the suitable normal pool level of the reservoir is selected.

From physical model test,two important indexes of Cuijiaying Hydro-junction Project,the normal pool level and the maximum navigable discharge,are obtained.

As the project construction is progressing to full scale, the implementation of 400 m (normal pool level) scheme with one-stage completion becomes more important and imminent.
