琶xun一zhongduan虚拟终端(virtual terminal，Vr)将计算机网络中各种类型的实终端的功能一般化、标准化后得到的一种终端模型。网络中的应用程序和实终端经过映象后，变换成标准的虚拟终端进行通信。 在计算机网络环境中，任一实终端要访问网络中的应用程序，都必须为该应用程序所接受，即必须符合应用程序与终端的接口要求，如不符合，则需要有一个实体来进行映象。若一个计算机网络中有m种终端和n种应用程序，则必须有m xn个映象实体，这无疑会大大增加每个计算机系统的开销。如果在网络中建立一个标准的、规范化的抽象终端模型，任何实终端或应用程序均与其建立标准接口，则就将m xn的问题简化为m十n的问题，且在扩充新类型的终端或应用程序时，只要增加一个新的映象实体即可。 虚拟终端模型如图1所示，它由下列3个部分组成: ┌─────┐ │传送级眼务│ └─────┘ ┌─────┐ │控制部件 │ └─────┘ ┌────┐ │数据结构│ └────┘ ┌───────┐│终端处理程序 │└───────┘本地设备接口图1虚拟终端模型 (l)控制部件实现虚拟终端协议(VTP)，并实现与传送级服务接口; (2)数据结构包括正文数据及其属性，并记录用户与应用程序之间通信的当前状态。不同类型的虚拟终端所需的数据结构不同; (3)终端处理程序提供虚拟终端与本地设备(如输人、输出等设备)之间的接口。 由于计算机终端种类繁多，各种实际应用中对终端的要求也不同，要想将所有终端的众多功能归结在一起，抽象化、一般化为一个虚拟终端模型是很困难的。即便如此，也不利于终端功能的扩充。一个有效的方法是按类建立虚拟终端模型及其协议。国际标准化组织将虚拟终端分成5类: (1)基本类处理由字符元素或镶嵌元素组成的一维、二维或三维数组，对应的实终端有电传打字机、页式显示终端等; (2)表格类处理对象与基本类相同，另外还具有对输入、输出进行表格式控制处理的能力，对应的实终端有处理各类业务(如航运、银行等)的窗口服务终端; (3)图象类处理由象元元素组成的二维或三维数组，对应的实终端是图象处理终端; (4)图形类处理由几何图形元素(如点、线、二次曲线段等)组成的多层结构，对应的典型实终端是图形终端。 (5)混合类处理由字符元素、镶嵌元素、象元元素和几何图形元素组成的多层结构，它是以上4类的混合，对应的典型实终端是高级工作站。 为了提供网络环境下使用分时系统的功能，一般要在提供服务的远地主机处引人虚拟终端，并在其分时系统中配置相应的虚拟终端控制程序。
