hap／pah-2／hac“虎”是德国mbb公司和法国国营航宇工业公司联合研制的反坦克和地面支援直升机。两家公司的分工如下：德国mbb公司负责研制旋翼、后机身(包括座舱)、液压和飞行控制系统，并进行飞行性能、飞行特性、强度、振动试验和模拟飞行试验。法国国营航宇工业公司负责研制尾桨、中机身(包括发动机安装)、传动hap／pah-2／hac“虎”系统、燃油和电气系统，并进行气动力、重量控制、维护性、可靠性和生存性试验。
hap／pah-2／hac“虎”将发展下列三种型别：hap“虎”法国陆军护航和火力支援型，预计从1997年开始交付，装一门30毫米giat-30781自动机炮，带有150～450发炮弹。两侧短翼装4枚玛特拉公司“密史脱拉风”红外制导空空导弹和2个分别装22枚68毫米smeb火箭弹的火箭发射器。“密史脱拉风”导弹也可换装12枚火箭弹的火箭弹发射器，使火箭弹总数达到68枚，座舱顶部装有电视，前视红外仪、激光测距仅和直射光探设备；pah-2“虎”德国陆军反坦克型，短翼挂架可装8枚“霍特”2或第3代远程反坦克导弹，或4枚“霍特”2，外加4枚第3代远程反坦克导弹(内侧)和4枚用于自卫的“毒刺”2空空导弹，旋翼轴上装有电视、前视红外仪／跟踪装置／激光测距仪，机头装驾驶员用前视红外夜视装置；hac“虎”法国陆军反坦克型，短翼挂架可装8枚“霍特”2或第3代远程反坦克导弹，或4枚“霍特”2导弹和4枚第3代远程反坦克导弹(内侧)和4枚玛特拉公司的“密史脱拉风”空空导弹(外恻)。旋翼轴上装有类似于pah-2那样的前视红外夜视系统。第一架原型机于 1991年上半年试飞。
