The important measures to build modern cities with spirit-resonance and the outstanding individuality are as follows: protect the urban cultural relics, project the urban cultural features, excavate the urban regional features, project the urban regional style, value the urban symbol buildings and elaborately depict the urban image.

This paper focuses on the probing into Maodun’s opinion on authors and works within seventeen years in terms of the following aspects: grasping the distinct features; controlling mental art; using contrast and comparison and prose aesthetics, from which benefit can be drawn for today’s literature and art criticism.
