为灵敏、特异的检测肝功能的方法。胆酸系由肝细胞合成、释放,经胆管系统排入肠道,有98%以上的胆酸由回肠重吸收,再经门脉系统返回肝,被肝细胞重吸收,形成胆酸的肝肠循环。仅不到1%的胆酸进入外周血,正常人血清胆酸浓度极低(5μmol/L)。当肝功能受损时,其重吸收功能障碍,使血清胆酸升高数倍或数十倍。对疑为早期肝硬化而常规肝功能检查正常者的诊断有显著临床价值。当慢性肝炎转为活动期,血清胆酸升高较血清谷丙转氨酶升高早数周,故可作为治疗和监测的指标。
