利用各种运载工具投放到敌方上空或阵地附近，自动对敌方电子设备进行干扰的一次使用的电子对抗设备。主要用来干扰高频／甚高频无线电战术通信设备以及地面火控雷达、对空情报雷达等。它通常由悬浮装置、控制器和干扰机组成。干扰机主要有频率引导式、频率预置式和转发式三种类型，可施放阻塞式、瞄准式或回答式干扰。干扰功率一般只有几瓦到几十瓦，工作时间为几分钟到几个小时。投掷式干扰机有悬空干扰和落地干扰两种类型。使用的运载工具有飞机、直升机、小型遥控飞行器、火炮、火箭、导弹、气球、充气风筝等。悬空干扰的干扰机投放到敌方上空后，控制器控制降落伞打开，同时自动或按遥控指令接通干扰机的电源，伸出天线进行干扰。当干扰机下降到一定高度或着陆时，即停止干扰。落地干扰的干扰机，由运载工具投射后降落到敌阵地电子设备附近，干扰机按遥控指令、触地开关或定时自动开机进行干扰。投掷式干扰机体积小、重量轻，由于投放到敌方阵地附近，能以较小的干扰功率取得良好的干扰效果。
