聚氨酯热塑性弹性体又称热塑性聚氨酯橡胶,简称TPU,是一种(AB)n型嵌段线性聚合物,A为高分子量(1000-6000)的聚酯或聚醚,B为含2-12直链碳原子的二醇,AB链段间化学结构是用二异氰酸酯,通常是MDI连接。一般的结构式为见图。热塑性聚氨酯橡胶靠分子间氢键交联或大分子链间轻度交联,随着温度的升高或降低,这两种交联结构具有可逆性。在熔融状态或溶液状态分子间力减弱,而冷却或溶剂挥发之后又有强的分子间力连接在一起,恢复原有固体的性能。
聚氨酯热塑性弹性体有聚酯型和聚醚型两类,白色无规则球状或柱状颗粒,相对密度1.10-1.25,聚醚型相对密度比聚酯型小。聚醚型玻璃化温度为100.6-106.1℃,聚酯型玻璃化温度108.9-122.8℃。聚醚型和聚酯型的脆性温度低于-62℃,硬醚型耐低温性忧于聚酯型。
聚氨酯热塑性弹性体突出的特点是耐磨性优异、耐臭氧性极好、硬度大、强度高、弹性好、耐低温,有良好的耐油、耐化学药品和耐环境性能,在潮湿环境中聚醚型酯水解稳定性远超过聚酯型。
聚氨酯热塑性弹性体无毒、无味,可溶于甲乙配、环己酮、四氢呋喃、二氧六环、二甲基甲酰胺等溶剂,也能溶于甲苯、醋酸乙酯、丁酮、丙酮以适当比例组成的混合溶剂中,呈现无色透明状态,有较好的贮存稳定性。
