In view of the highly statically indeterminate spatial framework or truss structure of the derrick of oil drilling rig, a new computing method is proposed to solve for the reliability degree of components by using the Monte Carlo-finite element method and failure probability of the structural system of the rig by using the bounded preprocessing and network-based probability-estimating techniques.
