织制长毛绒组织针织物的机器，也称人造毛皮针织机。有毛条喂入式和毛纱喂入式两类。单针筒舌针长毛绒圆纬机上用毛条喂入。在机器的每一成圈系统上装有喂毛梳理装置（如图），毛条由一对罗拉夹持，喂给道夫，使道夫的金属梳针上带有一层游离纤维网。舌针针钩抓取纤维束后与地纱一起成圈，绒毛留在织物表面。绒毛高度与毛条内单纤维长度有关。双针筒舌针长毛绒圆纬机上用毛纱喂入，由下针筒的无舌针的针钩形成毛圈，并由针上的刃口割开毛圈，或由上、下针筒间的圆刀割断毛圈。毛圈长度决定毛绒长度。双针床舌针经编机也可用来织制长毛绒组织。这时后针床上装一般舌针，前针床上装无钩针。毛纱垫在无钩针和舌针上，而地纱只垫在舌针上，地纱与毛纱一起成圈织成地组织，毛圈则从无钩针上脱卸并由专用的圆刀片割断，形成长毛绒。在双针床多梳栉舌针长毛绒经编机上，可织成双层坯布，由中间割开毛纱延展线来制得长毛绒坯布。
