性质：是使高分子化合物的不稳定端基稳定化过程。如用过硫酸盐作引发系统的氟树脂，由于大分子末端是羧酸端基，在加工和应用中受热时，羧酸端基分解放出水、二氧化碳等，影响了制品的质量。为此，聚合物原料在加工前要进行端基处理，使端基稳定化。在用过硫酸盐引发制聚全氟乙丙烯中尤为重要。
