装在飞机上用于识别雷达所发现目标的敌我属性的电子设备。包括应答机和问答机两种类型。它与装备在己方其他飞机、舰艇、坦克和雷达站的询问机或问答机,组成合作式的目标敌我识别系统。应答机是被动式的敌我识别装置,在收到己方询问信号时,能自动回答一组编码信号,以供问方识别。问答机除具有应答功能外,还能主动向被识别的目标发出询问信号,并根据对方有无回答信号,或回答信号是否与预定密码相同,判断其敌我属性。有的飞机敌我识别器除用于目标识别外,还能传送载机的其他信息,兼作空中交通管制系统的二次雷达使用。此识别器的发展趋势,主要是扩大识别目标的信息范围,研制综合性的目标识别系统,采用非合作式的目标识别体制(如利用目标电磁特征直接识别敌我),提高识别目标的可靠性、保密性和抗干扰性能等。
