Trimethyltin(TMT)always exists in non-toxic or hypotoxic organic-tin thermal stabilizers,which is a neurotoxic agent,pathological changes is mainly located in limbic system and cerebellum,causing degeneration and necrosis of neurons.

Of these compounds,the trialkyltins,especially tributyltin,triphenyltin and trimethyltin,have been proved to have the distinct ability to induce tumor cell apoptosis and significant antitumor activity.
