中嘉无污水处理厂的总处理量是30万吨/天，共分三期兴建，第一期工程处理量为10万吨/天。根据中山市环保局的进水及出水水质要求，该厂采用了先进的氧化沟工艺来达到去除有机物及脱磷脱氧的要求。系统的主要处理工艺流程分为预处理、氧化沟、终沉池和污泥脱水四个部分。采用基于PLC 5 控制器成本低廉的远程通信和控制系统；保证污水处理过程的质量，使得出水水质符合规定的标准；应用先进的PID算法和闭环控制策略以维持化学药品的最佳平衡和最大限度地降低成本高昂的中和药品用量；变频器和智能马达控制器不仅避免电机启动时对电网的冲击，而且起到均衡节能、起停控制和速度调节的作用；友好的用户界面（MMI）和完善的报表输出系统使得管理人员可以很方便地控制、监测系统和排除系统故障，并能及时地得到系统处理过程中的数据，掌握系统的运行趋势。
