To determine areal anisotropy in hydrocarbon reservoirs without tiring type-curve matching,a new method based on TDS(Tiab s direct synthesis) technique was presented to estimate the maximum and minimum directional permeability and its azimuth angle,average areal permeability as well as anisotropy degree.
