澳新自由贸易区
澳新自由贸易区根据澳大利亚和新西兰两国工983年签订的《进一步密切经济关系协作》协议而成立。经过双方的筹备，1988年两国同意将原定于1995年起实行的双边贸易自由化协议提前5年实行。于是从199。年7月1日起，澳新两国间取消了商品贸易的所有壁垒，包括关税、进口许可证和关税配额等限制，并使绝大部分劳务也实现了自由化。《进一步密切经济关系协作》协议的宗旨是:通过协调两国间在商法、技术标准、卫生检疫条例、海关手续、劳务、航空和海运等方面的间题，使两国商品和劳务贸易达到最大限度的自由化。澳新自由贸易区将促进两国以农业经济为基础的制造业的发展，使其更加多元化并在对付来自亚太地区及欧共体的竞争方面提高抗衡能力。但该协议并不意味着彻底开放澳新两国的贸易环境，而是要简化报关手续，减少两国贸易中所需单据的费用，共同磋商解决损害自由竞争的行为。此外，为适应两国间不同的税收制度，各自独立的违禁与限制性物品的管理以及不同的检疫制度，在双边贸易中的货物不论征税与否，进关时仍需办理有关的进口手续。
