疾病分类学
应用疾病统计学的原理将疾病进行统一分类的一门学科。一般根据发病原因、病变性质和主要病变部位，把疾病分成若干类组并加以编列。疾病的分类和命名反映了当时医学科学水平。最早的疾病分类法是十八世纪意大利病理学家莫尔迦尼按器官病理解剖定位原则划分的。十九世纪中叶以后，由于细菌学的成就，疾病开始按病因学原则分类。世界卫生组织订有《国际疾病分类》，每十年修订一次。我国卫生部订有全国统一的《医院住院病人疾病分类》。
