位于巫溪县西北边缘，面积近2万顷，海拔1800—2500米，由多个岩溶槽谷平坝组成。槽谷底部地形辽阔平坦，夏季绿草如茵，繁花似锦，冬季银装素裹，一派北国风光。近年来，中国科学院在此进行养殖等多项科研活动。目前草场已有绵羊一万只，贝母、西洋参等中药材种植初见成效。这里是避暑疗养和冬季开展滑雪活动的好场所。
