高平均功率激光晶体high average power lasercrystal平均激光输出功率高于几十瓦的一种激光晶体。其特点是:①光谱性能优良。具有宽而强的吸收带、较高的荧光量子效率、大的跃迁截面和较高的能量转换效率。②热性能优良。其热膨胀系数小,热导率高。③机械性能优良。其机械强度高,硬度大,物理化学性能稳定,光照和热性能稳定。④易于生长出大尺寸晶体,晶体的光损耗小,光学均匀性高。 具有高平均功率特点的激光晶体有掺钦石榴石(Nd:YAG)、红宝石(Cr:A12O3)、掺钱铝酸忆(Nd:YAP)和掺铬铝酸被晶体(Cr:BeA12O4)等。其中Nd:YAG晶体应用最多。 Nd:YAG激光器,主要用于激光加工和激光医疗。激光加工包括激光打孔、焊接、切割和热处理等,激光医疗则主要用于眼科治疗和激光手术。一般的高平均功率Nd:YAG激光器,使用闪光灯泵浦、圆柱状激光棒。激光运行中,由于激光棒四周受到较好的冷却,激光棒中心温度较高,激光棒端面成凸透镜结构,使激光束质量下降并限制了激光功率的提高。单棒结构的Nd:YAG激光器的平均输出功率,一般不超过300W。为进一步提高输出功率,又制造出板条和圆筒状工作物质的Nd:YAG激光器。在板条激光器中,光线在板条中成“之”字形传播,交替通过较冷的侧面区和较热的中心区,补偿的结果使输出的激光束具有极好的质量。Nd:YAG圆筒结构的激光器,闪光灯一般置于圆筒内,从而获得高的泵浦效率。板条和圆筒Nd:YAG激光器,均可获得千瓦级以上的平均功率输出,在激光加工等方面得到广泛应用。 (侯印春)
