制备方法：硝基苯经还原而得。在反应锅内投入硝基苯、氢氧化钠溶液，升温至60℃，慢慢加入葡萄糖液，在65-75℃下保温1h，即反应生成氧化偶氮苯。实验室制备实例：在带回流装置的500ml烧瓶中，加入30g氢氧化钠和100ml水配成的溶液，再加入20.5g纯的硝基苯，在水浴中加热，温度保持在55-60℃。在搅拌下分多次加入总量为21g的无水葡萄糖，约1h加完。在沸水浴中加热2h。然后将热的反应物进行水蒸气蒸馏，除去未反应的硝基苯和反应副产物苯胺。当馏出液呈澄清时（约蒸出1L），将剩余物倒入烧杯中，冰浴冷却。反应物很快凝固，将其研碎、水洗，在滤纸上晾干，得13g纯品，熔点35-35.5℃，产率79%，有乙醇重结晶，熔点为36℃。
用途：有机合成中间体。
