裸藻门裸藻纲裸藻目袋鞭藻科的1属。又名:杆囊藻属。均为具2条鞭毛的单细胞体,向前的一条为游泳鞭毛，粗壮而长，向后的一条为拖曳鞭毛（因紧贴体表而不易见到）；无细胞壁，原生质体的表层硬化程度低，成为柔软的表质，因而体形易变，表面具螺形线纹；紧靠贮蓄泡有1～2个具排泄功能的收缩泡和 2根有吞食功能的摄食杆,又称杆状器或咽头棒体;不具色素；无眼点；贮藏物质为副淀粉与脂肪。
本属约12种,中国现有的记录仅4种。生长在含有机质丰富的静水小水体中，营动物性的吞食营养。耐污能力强，在处理污水的活性污泥中可大量出现。常见的种类为三角袋鞭藻。
