处于超导态的厚壁多连通超导体,若原先空腔中无磁场存在,在外加小于临界磁场的磁场后,由于有产生逆磁的屏蔽环电流而磁场不能进入腔内,起到磁场屏蔽的作用,称超导磁屏蔽。例如对空心超导圆柱体,则磁场不能进入圆柱空腔,况且,即使圆柱壁厚d≤λL,只要内半径`r\gt\gt\lambda_L`,也可起到屏蔽磁场进入空腔的作用。这里λL是伦敦穿透深度。
